Internet Marketers get so busy making money, they forget about the people who are paying them in the process.

Recently, someone did a FaceBook poll where they asked: “Internet Marketers get so busy making money, they forget about the people who are paying them in the process.” True or False were the two choices for responses. Probably many clients of Internet marketers can feel this way but the truth is to be successful as a Internet marketer you must always be concerned with your client’s needs. Often shady web marketers will force clients on a monthly maintenance contract. This type of situation is common and leaves a bad taste in a client’s mouth. Usually, the client feels they are trapped or bullied that if they leave their rankings will drop or the marketer will possibly sabotage them. As a result there is distrust between and marketer. When a client doesn’t trust you as a web marketer then there is very little room to grow and often the business relationship will fail. These types of marketers would answer “true” to the above statement. However, had they focused on their clients needs and created trust with them, they would be much more successful and would make a lot more money.
Here are my 3 benefits of creating trust and why it is important not to forget your client’s needs:

1) Opportunity: For many years I had only a small number of clients but was able to generate a good income serving their web marketing needs. Often I would try to find ways to save them money and find ways to increase their business. Often when you create opportunity for clients, they are open to new ideas and will increase their budgets to test those ideas. So looking after a client’s bottom line becomes a huge opportunity generator for a successful marketer.

2) Referrals: As I mentioned earlier for many years I was dealing with only a small group of clients. However, now I work with many more. Often I deal with over 100 on a regular basis. The reason for the large number was my clients often get noticed online and are happy to have “finally found someone they can trust”. As a result, they refer their friends’ to me. Nowadays I get 1-2 referrals a day. It gets challenging on many occasions but I always try to help each as if they are my only client.

3) Retention: Web marketing is a cut throat industry. There are thousands of people who chase after each of your clients. Often they will promise the world to them in order to try to steal them away from you. If your clients don’t trust you, it is very easy for them to be lured away. The only way to be successful is spend less time chasing clients and more time retaining clients.

So despite what people my believe the answer to the statement: “Internet Marketers get so busy making money, they forget about the people who are paying them in the process.” is false. You can’t be a successful marketer and make lots of money unless you always remember your clients.
